How to waterproof Acacia Wood?

We recommend using a clear coat over the sealant to make this even more durable.
If the sealant is not clear, be sure it doesn’t have any dark pigments. Otherwise, the glue will leave behind a film of colour when applied. When applying the glue, use it in thin layers so that you don’t build up too much product around anything that may stick out on the piece, i.e., a seat edge. The first layer should always be allowed to dry before applying another layer. Allow at least 4 hours between coats to ensure that each coat has dried properly before adding another one.
Waterproof Finish for Acacia Wood

But don’t worry, acrylic sealant available which is used in most boats since it has a UV inhibitor and is more durable than any other type of finish out there. When you apply them to all furniture, they were like new again! Now that my table wasn’t disgusting anymore, I guess it was worth the time and money. The downside is that I’ve noticed this stuff gets everywhere, but you can clean it up quickly with a damp cloth or paper towel.
Is Acacia Furniture Good for Outdoor Furniture?

Is acacia wood water-resistant?
Waterproofing acacia is an excellent option if you don’t like or can’t afford a coating. It’s one of the few water-resistant kinds of wood we carry in the store. Acacia usually appears between mahogany and walnut, but it can be dyed any colour. The only downside is that some people might be allergic to the plant resin used to make them. A significant upside is that they’re inexpensive! Acacias also have lovely grain patterns and are relatively soft, so they’re easy on your tools and your hands. If you want to seal them up with something, there are oils and sealers available at our store that will help tremendously!
We recommend using Mineral Oil every three months – rub it into the surface of the wood with a rag and let dry for 30 minutes before applying another coat. For this specific type of wood, spray Seal All on once per year or whenever there’s been heavy rain for an extended period – about two coats should do it. You’ll know when you need more because water droplets will bead up and not soak into the surface any longer. To remove mineral oil from surfaces other than floors, use mineral spirits or turpentine.
